GRADE 3-5 PYP SPANISH TEACHER

Who I am as a teacher:

  • I come from a family of educators in different specialties, and I love to learn!
  • My Mexican mother and Cuban father provided me with a fused cultural upbringing of the Spanish language and the cultural customs that accompany their countries. I love that I get to teach the language that is such an important part of who I am.
  • I believe learning should be fun, engaging, and meaningful. I encourage my students to ask questions and share their individual life experiences and connections to the learning. I believe language learning should begin at a young age. I encourage my students to take risks speaking Spanish and learn as much as possible about the culture and traditions of those who speak the language.
  • I enjoy learning with my students and welcome researching together.
  • I love using music, technology, and movement in learning.
  • When I am not teaching, I love to cook, travel, and be outside. Eating with friends and family is my absolute favorite! My husband and two chihuahuas come along on most of my outdoor adventures, and traveling is a frequent must to explore and learn about the beautiful world we live in!
