I believe:
Every student is strong, smart, brave, and capable.
Meaningful learning occurs when students feel safe and the light of their curiosity is lit.
To be a teacher is to guide the emergence of their truest selves.
I use inquiry-based learning strategies whenever possible in my teaching, get to know each child individually and cultivate a relationship with them, and place emphasis on making sure my students develop the goal-setting and metacognitive skills to explore their interests and discover themselves.
I want my students to finish the year with confidence in who they are, a meaningful understanding of their own strengths and weaknesses, and a stance of passionate curiosity towards the world.
