A.S.I.
After School International or A.S.I is a program made to be exciting and enriching for students K-8. The program runs in accordance with the school calendar. Kindergarten begins at 2:30 p.m. and grades 1-8 start at 3:15 p.m. The program ends promptly each day at 6:00 p.m. and scheduling is flexible for each family. Availability is subject to staffing and is reviewed each school year.
Our Mission
This year at I.S.M we have come together to “Celebrate Our Genius”. This theme is followed all day and into the afternoon at A.S.I where we provide opportunities for each student's genius to shine. By offering exciting activities such as dance, art, gardening, and more we help to share our identity, skills, knowledge, and thinking!
A.S.I at a Glance
K - 2
Students in Kindergarten - Second grade are given the opportunity each day to participate in activities, relax during our scheduled reading time, and enjoy snacks made daily, complimentary of Mr. Terry Bumper.
3 - 8
Students in third - eighth grade are also encouraged to participate in daily activities, practice their reading skills, and are provided with a fresh snack each day. However, beginning in third grade students are allocated 30 minutes to an hour of homework time daily in a quiet working space.
Something New!
Starting this year A.S.I will be inviting guest speakers from our community who will be instructing exciting activities, some topics include healthy eating, environmental sustainability, and for students 5-8th career presentations. These special guests will join us twice a month beginning in September.
Sign-Up
ASI is an optional paid service that complements the regular educational program at ISM. ASI is open only to currently enrolled ISM students. Sign-up for ASI is done electronically through filling out our online 2024-25 Initial Contract. Once we have received your contract, we will contact you within two business days to confirm that your paperwork is complete and the amount you will owe for the first month of care.
*ISM offers ASI as a paid program not part of the regular educational program guaranteed by the State of California. As such, ASI access is not guaranteed to any individual. ISM reserves the right to limit the number of participants on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on available staffing and facilities. ISM also reserves the right to temporarily or permanently deny further services at any time based on parent failure to pay for services, student failure to comply with behavior expectations, or any other failure to comply with program expectations.

Our ASI Teacher 2024-2025
Hannah Garibay: ASI coordinator and teacher
Miss Hannah is a student at CSUMB, completing her degree in psychology. Hannah was awarded her AA in psychology from MPC and has been working in the field since 2023, this being the inspiration to lead through communication and caring.
Some of her hobbies include mountain biking, Folclorico dance, and Latin dancing!
Ava Russell: ASI Teacher
Miss Ava is a student at Hartnell College studying zoology. Ava has been dancing since the age of 3; learning ballet, jazz, contemporary, etc. Some of her most memorable roles were Pixie Queen in The Nutcracker, Lead role as Pandora in Pandora's box, and any dance she got to do with her sister. Her willingness to be true to herself has allowed her to be open-minded, reflecting in the way she collaborates with her students. Aside from her long career in dancing, she enjoys drawing, video games, and spending her time in nature!
Danielle Arce: ASI Teacher
Miss Dani spends her time creating art where ever she goes. She not only enjoys drawing and painting but has mastered the art of knitting and crochette, connecting with her student through creating. She has recently joined the world of 3D printing and shares creations with her students. Miss Dani has a passion for inspiring creativity in all forms and hopes to lead her students with the personality of open-mindedness and caring!
Juliana Garibay: ASI Teacher
Miss Juliana is a student at MPC pursuing a degree in biology to become a dermatologist. Juliana has been dancing alongside Miss Ava for __ years competitively on the group team and in performances year-round, with her true love being ballet. She has begun to explore the discipline of folclorico as well as other styles of Latin dance. Her inquiring personality is reflected in the way she leads her students. Allowing them lto earn and explore the world around them. Besides dancing, she spends her time relaxing with many, many books!

Miss Kayla spends most of her time attending nursing school in San Jose, but her hard work and dedication are also reflected in the way she leads her students. She has a passion for fashion and traveling, making it a goal to be balanced in all aspects of her life. Bringing balance and reflection to her students is what she does best! Practicing breathing and allowing time for her students to become their best selves.

Mr. Robert attends CSUMB, completing his bachelor's in Biology. He enjoys teaching and playing sports with students who have not gotten the chance to do so before, making sports an opportunity for everyone. He finds balance through physical education and leading the students in friendly competition. In his free time he enjoys exploring fashion, nature, video games and music.
