Substitute Application

On an ongoing basis, ISM seeks enthusiastic, flexible, and credentialed substitute teachers who are committed to contributing to the academic, social, and character development of students from diverse backgrounds.

All substitute teaching candidates must:

• Possess or qualify for applicable substitute teaching credentials in the State of California.
• Be fluent and demonstrate ability to teach in English.
• Provide at least three professional references.

We add teachers to our substitute pool once a short interview and reference check have been conducted. Those who successfully complete substitute assignments remain in the pool.

All substitute teachers must complete a criminal background check based on livescan fingerprinting before their first assignment.
