In grades K-5, transdisciplinary units of inquiry are taught in different subjects. California State Standards, as well as Common Core State Standards, serve as the basis for our curriculum. In the PYP, the standards are incorporated into six transdisciplinary units at each grade level. The six transdisciplinary themes serve as the framework for the PYP curriculum. The transdisciplinary themes are who we are, where we are in place and time, how we express ourselves, how the world works, how we organize ourselves, and sharing the planet. Teachers and students always reflect upon units of inquiry in the PYP. Adjustments are continually made to strengthen and enhance the learning experience for all students.
