Who I am as a teacher:

  • I believe we all see and feel the world around us differently; therefore, students learn and express themselves differently. Art is a perfect medium to achieve this! Learning to honor each other’s art, as well.  
  • I believe creating a safe and trusting environment together allows students to flourish and take risks to grow into confident and global citizens of this world. 
  • Engaging students to learn & reflect about all eras and cultural expressions through art opens their minds and hearts to the World. 
  • Community-based art and artists are very important to me. I love introducing this to my art students through field trips or large-scale art projects. 
  • Humor! Kindness! Compassion! Joy! Gratitude! These are essentials in the mix of every art day.
