Jenna Houseman

GRADE 3 PYP INSTRUCTOR

Who I am as a teacher:

  • “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”

  • I studied Marine Biology in my undergrad and taught informal marine education for almost 10 years.

  • My teaching strengths revolve around science and incorporating it into other content areas.

  • I build strong routines in my classroom that help with distractions and hold my students to high expectations for their behavior and learning. My behavior management is positive reinforcement while redirecting unwanted behavior.

  • I want to help grow students who can problem solve and resolve solutions using social-emotional skills they learn in our classroom community.

  • I look for ways to provide a hands-on approach to learning while incorporating multiple modalities for students to access the content.
