GRADE 3 PYP TEACHER

Who I am as a teacher:

  • “Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot; others transform a yellow spot into the sun.“  Pablo Picasso

  • I believe we all see and feel the world around us differently; therefore, students learn and express themselves differently.
  • Honoring students' individuality, growing their special light, and guiding them to honor each other is a huge part of who I am.
  • “ Love will find its way through all languages on its own.“ Rumi
  • Love and compassion for ourselves and one another are the foundation for a kind classroom community.  After spending 10 years teaching internationally, I lived and observed this, no matter the country or culture.
  • I believe creating a safe and trusting environment together allows students to flourish and take risks to grow into confident and global citizens of this world.
  • A responsive classroom approach guides students in their social-emotional learning to be empathetic and responsible members of their classroom and school community.
  • I believe true, lasting, and meaningful learning is achieved through inquiry by using all 5 senses.
  • Humor! Joy! Gratitude! These are other essentials in the mix of every day.
