Who I am as a teacher:

  • “Be the change you want to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi

  • “Attitude is everything.”

  • “Talking is learning.”

  • “Be kind.”

  • If you walk into my classroom you may hear these phrases, as they are a reflection of my teaching style and the environment that I try to create.

  • We practice mindfulness on a daily basis and I work hard to build a strong community of mutual respect where students feel safe to take risks and support each other.

  • Maintaining a growth mindset when faced with challenges stems from the support of those in our classroom community.

  • I guide students in becoming lifelong learners who use critical thinking to overcome obstacles and solve problems.

  • Students are encouraged to reflect on themselves as learners and feel empowered to determine what they need in order to be successful.

  • Thinking, wondering, laughing, sharing, and supporting each other is how we achieve our goals and become our best selves.

  • My goal is for students to leave my classroom feeling encouraged, accepted, challenged, and loved.
