“Be the change you want to see in the world.” - Mahatma Gandhi
“Attitude is everything.”
“Talking is learning.”
“Be kind.”
If you walk into my classroom you may hear these phrases, as they are a reflection of my teaching style and the environment that I try to create.
We practice mindfulness on a daily basis and I work hard to build a strong community of mutual respect where students feel safe to take risks and support each other.
Maintaining a growth mindset when faced with challenges stems from the support of those in our classroom community.
I guide students in becoming lifelong learners who use critical thinking to overcome obstacles and solve problems.
Students are encouraged to reflect on themselves as learners and feel empowered to determine what they need in order to be successful.
Thinking, wondering, laughing, sharing, and supporting each other is how we achieve our goals and become our best selves.
My goal is for students to leave my classroom feeling encouraged, accepted, challenged, and loved.
