Part-Time Custodian (0.5 FTE) (2 positions available)
Job Summary
~ Sweep, scrub, mop, and wax floors; vacuum and clean carpets.
~ Prepare multi-use room (MUR) daily for three lunch periods
~ Dust and polish furniture and woodwork.
~ Empty and clean waste and recycling receptacles.
~ Assist in moving and arranging furniture and equipment, and setting up rooms.
~ Take care of equipment and materials and make minor non-technical repairs; replace lights; adjust shades and blinds, repair furniture and desks; and change heating filters.
~ Stay informed about current methods, practices, regulations, and guidelines for school plant operations and maintenance.
~ Help provide positive team and staff interactions along with students and parents
Skills
~ Knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment used in custodial work
~ Knowledge of requirements for maintaining school buildings and grounds in a safe, clean, and orderly condition ~ Use time efficiently and effectively to provide all services and student support
~ Ability to listen, speak, read, and write in languages other than English preferred
~ International Baccalaureate, charter, and California public school experience preferred
~ Open until filled

Part-Time After School International (ASI) Instructor (0.6 FTE) (2 positions available)
Job Summary
- Create and manage a learning environment conducive to student and programming needs.
- Communicate expectations regarding behavior and consequences to students.
- Demonstrate concern and regard for all students.
- Seek to develop relationships between self and students, and among students, based on listening, mutual respect, concern for others, and positive reinforcement of desired behaviors and attitudes.
- Maintain an appropriate physical environment, minimizing risk and maximizing safety and security.
- Develop and teach short courses on subjects through Weekly Enrichment.
- Apply teaching strategies consistent with student needs, the curriculum, and time allocations.
- Make complete and appropriate use of instructional time.
- Assure each ASI student has the opportunity to participate in daily activities as scheduled.
- Support students with schoolwork, time management, or behavioral redirection.
- Set boundaries and support individual students' needs while managing minor disciplinary problems.
- Follow any specified student needs as outlined by the ASI Coordinator with fidelity.
- Report any needs to the ASI Lead Instructor or the ASI Coordinator.
Skills
- Effective listening ability and oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership, with the ability to direct K-8 students
- Demonstrated ability to address the essential functions identified below
- Use time efficiently and effectively to provide all services and student support
