Behavior Technician (0.7 FTE)

Position Type: Part-Time (0.7 FTE)
Reports To: Director of Special Education 
Start Date: Immediate Start

Position Summary

The Behavior Technician supports students in developing positive social, emotional, and behavioral skills in alignment with school-wide expectations and individualized behavior plans. Working under the supervision of licensed or credentialed staff, the Behavior Technician provides direct support to students, assists with data collection, and helps implement proactive and restorative behavior strategies across classroom and school settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct behavioral support to individual students and small groups in classrooms and other school settings

  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and support strategies as directed by supervising staff

  • Collect, document, and report behavioral data accurately and consistently

  • Support students in developing self-regulation, coping, and social skills

  • Assist with de-escalation and crisis prevention using approved techniques

  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, administrators, and families as appropriate

  • Support restorative practices and positive behavior interventions

  • Maintain student confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in educational, behavioral, or therapeutic settings

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive during challenging situations

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field

  • Experience with PBIS, restorative practices, or applied behavior analysis (ABA)

  • CPI, de-escalation, or crisis-intervention training (or willingness to obtain)

Work Schedule

  • 0.7 FTE (approximately 28 hours per week)

  • Schedule aligned with the school calendar

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications

2026-2027 Year Openings

 

Elementary Homeroom Teacher (Full-time)

Position Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Co-Principals / Head of School
Start Date: 2026–2027 School Year

Position Summary

The Elementary Homeroom Teacher fosters a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in an elementary grade (K–5). The teacher designs and delivers developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with school expectations, collaborates with colleagues and families, and contributes to a positive school culture grounded in strong relationships and high expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality instruction across core subject areas using effective, developmentally appropriate teaching practices

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students who need enrichment and students who require additional support

  • Establish a positive, structured classroom culture using proactive strategies and restorative practices

  • Assess student learning using a variety of methods; use data to monitor progress and adjust instruction

  • Build strong relationships with students and families through clear, timely, and professional communication

  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, specialists, and support staff to promote student success

  • Support school-wide initiatives, supervision duties, and community events as assigned

  • Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and uphold confidentiality

  • Participate in professional learning, coaching, and reflection to continuously improve practice

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid California teaching credential (Multiple Subject) or eligibility to obtain appropriate credential

  • Ability to pass required background clearances

  • Commitment to culturally responsive practices, equity, and inclusive education

  • Strong classroom management skills grounded in relationships, clear expectations, and consistency

  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching in grades K–5

  • Experience supporting multilingual learners and/or inclusive classrooms (SPED collaboration)

  • Familiarity with inquiry-based and/or project-based learning

  • Experience using restorative practices and positive behavior supports

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position aligned with the school calendar

  • Monday–Friday; daily hours vary by assignment and duties

Compensation

  • Salary dependent on experience and based on the teacher salary schedule
