Students who test positive for COVID-19 are required to isolate at home and may NOT attend school.
Parents should contact the school and report this absence, as always. When reporting the absence please make sure to include the date the positive test was administered and the first day the student experienced symptoms, if at all.
Five days after the positive test result, students should be retested.
If the test is negative, and they are fever and symptom free, the student should return to school the following day, but must wear a mask on campus for an additional five days.
If the test is positive, the student should remain in isolation for an additional five days. After 10 days (from the original test date -day 0) students should return to school, regardless of test results, as long as they are fever and symptom free.
Students exposed to someone with COVID-19 in school:
The school will notify families of students who spent more than a cumulative total of 15 minutes (within a 24-hour time period) in a shared indoor airspace with someone with COVID-19 during their period of infectiousness.
Notification will occur by "groups" of exposed students.
Notifications will be provided to all individuals considered exposed
Students exposed on campus, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status or prior infection, should get tested for COVID-19 with at least one diagnostic test obtained within 3-5 days after last exposure.
In the event of wide-scale and/or repeated exposures, once weekly testing for COVID-19 may be considered until such time that exposure events become less frequent.
Students exposed at school may continue to take part in all aspects of K-12 schooling, including sports and extracurricular activities, unless they develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19.
